On my 92 900 convertible, the central locking system sporadically fails to operate the passenger door and trunk. When that happens (no operation) the passenger door and trunk are left in the last lock position which operated (either locked or unlocked) and require manual unlocking if locked. Occasionally, the passenger door will lock itself while driving, as though 'just' getting the signal! Sometimes under these conditions the trunk lock won't work, and several locking/unlocking cycles can be required to make it either unlock or respond to key. I suspect perhaps iffy contacts somewhere, (seems to be a problem with the 92s) or a lock mechanism that might need lubrication. Anyone else any thoughts? The townsend website has info on the central locking system if you want to troubleshoot it. try http://216.78.172.244/alarm_folder/alarm_adj_docs.htm for info on the alarm system, and http://216.78.172.244/electrical_system_folder/centrallock.htm for central locking http://216.78.172.244/electrical_system_folder/c900doorlocwir.htm for central locking wiring diag.
