I concur with KeithG, RWD is better - if the driver is properly trained. KeithG mentions driving a 'skid car' which means he actually took an advanced driving course! For these people, with the proper training of the proper techniques, a RWD car can out handle a FWD car. However, for the vast majority of the drivers, FWD is a better car, offering more useable handling under all conditions. I count myself as one of the 'unskilled' majority and drive a Saab. I have friends who are BMW driving instructors and licensed amateur racing drivers and of course they like RWD better. These people can pull J turns, hand brake 180s etc. They also have dry road tires, wet road tire, and snow tires for their cars. They have also modified the suspension and exhaust and put superchargers on their engines. They are not your 'typical' driver, they are expert drivers and mechanics. For these people RWD is better.
