This happened on my 88 900 this past year. I used graphite powder lube, it worked for a while, then the damn thing just busted one day, now i use a screwdriver tip, as if i wasa car thief, because if you put a real key in there, it just bends. Lucky for me, i had spares that took that damage, my original pair of Saab keys are ok. BTW, I don't know if this is still true, but my Saab guru told me there are actually very few distinct key combos or Saabs in the USA, like maybe 12, so your key has a 1 in 12 chance of opening another Saab and starting it. This came up because, no lie, the repair shop called me back after Ihad picked up "Audry II", and told me I had another guy's Saab Keys, they had accidentally been switched at the counter!
