The thule rack has two little "bolt" like prongs that stick into holes on the leading edge of the door frame. The "bolts" are welded onto the special "saab" thule tower. If your rack doesn't have these then it may not be the right rack. The holes in the roof are probably obscured by the foam rubber door seal. To find them carefully peel back the seal from the roof- but don't pull it off. The "tower" for the thule rack will then slip between the seal and the roof.
