It depends on where you are located as to the importance, but I would see if it is connected up. It should come on with the other fan (at least in 2.0L 16V engines). Hook it up the the battery directly to see if it will run, if it runs, diagnose the rest of the harness. It seems that I have seen this fan with an 'aftermarket' wire hooked up on a couple of cars maybe because it is undersized or draws too much current... Actual diagnosis instructions would require that I have an 8V Bentley, which I do not. If it is like the 16V I think it should work like this: with key off and shorting the radiator temp sensor (left side end cap of radiator) the left fan should run. With the key on and a shorted temp sensor, the right side should run. Could be a relay, gorund connection or a wiring issue.
