Mark, The only concern I would have is that the seals may leak. If they are seeping now, they will leak more with synthetic. Now, that said, I find it hard to believe that this car has the original main seals and oil pump seal with that many miles and that many years. If you do switch and they have not been renewed, you may have to do a front main seal/oil pump o-ring (it is not a tough job, really). If it was well maintained, the shop that last changed the clutch probably replaced the rear main seal. If not, it will probably need top be replaced next time the clutch is out. These are the 'biggies' which can leak. When I have changed over to synth from dino and the seals are not yet weeping, they do not begin to leak. So if it is dry down there in those areas, it is probably safe. Definitely continue with the Mann or other high grade filter.
