I just bought a '89 900 16 valve non-turbo (with believe it or not 417K on it) & I couldn't be happier. It runs & handles like a new car. I'm not that up-to-date on VWs but I don't think that they make a car that is as well built as a Saab. I've owned an Accord before & I was also very satisfied with how well built it was but it was not built nearly as well as my '89 Saab & putting 417K on an Accord without doing any major engine work to it is out of the question. Not all Saabs are alike so do your homework. I hear that the Turbos have more problems (& you'll probably get more speeding tickets ; ) I did a Google search & came across a Saab vs Saab comparison chart so if I can find it again I'll post a link here.
