Hi everybody, My girlfriend recently purchased an '85 900 Turbo. Today I was waiting for her in a parking lot with the car running, when a hose in the engine blew. I don't know too much about cars (I've only worked on a '74 Beetle engine), but it seemed like a huge deal at the time. Big 'pop,' lots of smoke, and a terrible smell. Apparently one of the radiator hoses blew. There're hoses at the front of the car that attach to a metal part (that also has some wires attached to it). The longer of those two hoses (one is sorta "L" shaped, by the way) was broken. A couple of questions, to those who may help: I found the following site that sells parts (http://www.thesaabsite.com/900old/900&79to94heating&coolinghoses.htm), and it lists "1985 to 1994 16 Valve Turbo/Non-Turbo Small hose from A/C cutout to thermostat housing." Is this the correct part? In the picture it's the longer of the two, and it was the longer of the two that burst. Should this be the part I buy? Thanks for any help. I was also wondering if something else could have gone wrong in the process, and if I should be looking out for anything else. Oh, and one other thing. Can anyone recommend a book I should get for fixing this car up? There're are a bunch of other things that I'd like to look into fixing (the AC doesn't work, and the window motors are breaking/broken). I was just curious if there's a "definitive" guide or something. Thanks for all your help! Joe
