Subject: Re: Replacing/Fixing Clarion Tape Deck 88 9000T

You don't say where you are. I am in the USA. I have an 87 9000S with the OEM Clarion radio/cassette. If you have the two wire prong removers, the unit shoul pull out of the dash. When I had mine repaired, I sent it to Clarion with $80 U.S. and it came back like a new unit. The other way is find a Saab dealer. They should have refurbished units they will trade for a price. A year or two ago it cost about $135 to $150, but then you expect the dealer to mark up. The problem with the Clarion units is that after several years many of the solder points inside go bad and the problems start. The other option is to buy a different unit.
