It is oh so easy to say find a competent SAAB dealer and your problems will be over.... Well, sorry, but for about half the time I owned the car, there were NO Authorized SAAB mechs or shops where I live. Indeed, the best foreign car shop in town had a "no SAABS allowed" policy. I wound up going to a former SAAb guy who went private shadetree, and he's kept it going until now, heck, I think I put his kid thru college, but with an 18-inch hole rotted thru my drivers side floorboards this spring, the busted ignition lock, the tattered headliner and decrepit dash, and the door bottoms rusting thru, and the oil-laden stigmata, yeah, I think I'm done with it after 13 years.;-) It was a great car the first ten years, no doubt, but I'm in a differernt situation now, and the car no longer fits my needs in my budget range. the car I'm replacing it with has good room, nice styling, and though it might break more often, i won't have to find an elven king to fix it. Anybody want an 88 900 parts car in Springfield, Illinois?
