Subject: "Time for Service"

Hi all: My '01 Viggen Convertible just had the "Time for Service" light come on the SID at 9,300 miles. My question is this: Since the owner's manual says to service the car at 10k intervals, but I did at 5k anyway (oil change) should I be able to wait until the 10k service in 700 miles or should I make an appointment immediately? Any thoughts/experiences are welcome and much appreciated. Cheers. Kent
