Subject: Re: suggestions for a second hand 9000 cse turbo

Hi Glad to hear you are thinking of getting a Saab. I hear lots of concerns (unfoundly!)about the mileage on these superb cars. My 9000CS 2.3 Turbo is only 10 years old but has 185000 miles (approximately 300,000 KM). Please also bear in mind that this car has been chipped with various other performance upgrades and is producing 250+ BHP and has 320lb/ft of torque, and it still has provided me with a lot of trouble free miles. (it has also been very well loved though to be fair) Another point with the car you are thinking of..With this sort of mileage on a car of this age a lot of the miles ( KMs sorry, I'm from the UK!) are likely to me motorway miles which arent too much of a problem. So long as it has a comprehensive service history and has been well cared for. I wouldn't worry too much. I have seen reports of these cars with 400,000 miles (640,000 KM). Check turbo and head gasket and gearbox as these can be costly to fix (esp at main dealer) I also hear that the auto gear box is good for about 160,000km after this it can be a bit of a gamble. Prob solved...get a manual. Ensure that the price you pay is respective of the mileage of the car, but if it is you get a heck of a lot of car for your money. For suggestions on what to look for check out the suggested web site. Good luck in your purchase. cheers Brett "Gianmaria" <> wrote in message news:5rv7lug6nujmehamjsf78ojl1enna24m4inopsamcom... > I need to replace a 520 BMW M50 of june 1992 since it has the max > torque 2100 rpm which is very pleasant to drive.
