WD40 will leave a residue which will collect dust, gunk, and assorted non-conductive things over the years. Better to just polish it up with something like a pencil eraser, which will remove the cruft that's built up, and not encourage more of the same a few years down the road. WD40 is great at doing what it's designed for, which is displacing water (hence the W and the D) between mechanical parts. It's a poor lubricant, and the residue it leaves makes it a bad contact cleaner. Might work in the short-term, though. Dave "you knew it was coming..." Hinz
