Subject: 9-3 Throttle Housing Replacement?

For the past six days of ownership, this new to me 9-3 (used '01 SE 5spd w/24K) has purred like a kitten. Then just yesterday, after an early morning (pre-rush hour) romp at 115 mph, the engine's limp mode was activated. This happened during 'normal' city street-driving after a three hour+ rest from the morning romp! Seems the Throttle Housing needed to be replaced. Can anyone guess/suggest why the housing needed to be replaced; romp-related, bad-luck/lemon, par for the course at 24K? Thanks, J.E. Harris '01 9-3 SE '97 900 SE '88 9000T R.I.P.
