Well, it pretty much has to be a C900. I know 99s, NG900s, 9000s, 9^3s and 9^5s don't use a rod (can't comment on 96s and older). And all C900s used the same ba$t*** rod setup to control the heater valve. The answer is no, it's not hard to fix. Remove the speaker grille and take a good look - you'll be able to see the heater valve which the end of the rod goes on. The knob in question only controls the temperature, not direction etc. If your direction control knob is loose, then you've broken the switch; nothing to do with the rod. -- Grunff
