Lee, Glad to hear that you may have a solution at last. This may be useful information for a few people on Saabnet that have reported very similar symptoms with their cars - I'll forward this on to them. Although I struggle to find an explanation as to why the DI cassette may be the source of your problems, I suppose I'm not entirely surprised either - see http://www.vehicular.isy.liu.se/~larer/Projects/main.html for an article explaining how the DI cassette and spark plugs are used as combustion chamber sensors. This still doesn't help me understand why the DI cassette could cause this problem, but it is obviously a critical part of the engine management system. Hopefully you're all sorted now - and shouldn't need to worry about quite a lot of those new expensive components failing in the near future. Perhaps you could spend some of that money (that you might otherwise have needed to) on performance mods ;-) BTW did you get your exhaust replaced?
