You don't need the Haynes for a starter - just look at the thing, and work through it methodically. When I take them off, I prefer to remove the throttle body and the clutch cover - it makes life *much* easier. But it really shouldn't take more than 30-45mins first time round. Removing the clutch cover is a particularly good idea in your case, so that you can inspect your ring gear for damage. Don't forget to disconnect the battery first. -- Grunff
