Subject: Re: Resetting SRS light

The Light is nothing more than a visual indicator Dan. When you 1st switch on, does the light come on steady, or does it flash immediately you switch on ? If it comes on steady, and then flashes after starting there IS a fault, and the warning light is alerting you to that, I guess maybe you need to retrace your steps and see if you have made a mistake putting it all back together !! Under normal circumstances if any of the warning units malfunction and give a wrong indication, they can be reset by disconnecting the battery, this should clear any registered fault code in the ECU('s), leave disconnected for 5 mins, then reconnect and start the car immediately after reconnecting the battery. Allow it to idle for 2-3 mins after starting and then drive it for a mile or so, that *ought* to reset everything. If the airbag light continues to flash, its a SAAB dealer job to get it reset :-( . I took the wheel off my 9000 to repair the horn pushes which weren't working and had the SRS light come up after, doing the battery disconnect bit "reset" it and its not come back on with the engine running since. Hope that helps you Davey Return to Main Index
