Well, *that* I would not do. The B202 wasn't designed to have balance shafts, the 2.3 was. I don't know what the 2.3 would be like without the balance shaft(s) turning, but I can tell you that when the V4 Saabs lost a balance shaft gear, you *really* knew it. I"m thinking it'd be better to just fix the problem with the timing chain, if any, rather than taking it out. Dave Hinz
