Unfortunately I think you got hosed! Classic Saab 900's use real chains, not belts. It is only cars with belts that need to be changed periodically, typically somewhere in the 60-80K range. But for our cars, with a real chain, there is no need to replace it until there is a problem. Usually you will get plenty of warning when you hear it rattling around as it stretches and gets loose, at which point you can wander over to get it done when you get a chance. Having one break on you is almost unheard of unless you ignore the rattling for a year or two. <grin> Glad you have a better dealer now! Patrick
