Subject: Re: Checkin SAAB 9000 fuel injectors

Stephen Hiya, hmmmmm (rubs chin......) Have you thought of taking the injectors to a workshop for cleaning up (they get laquer on them and get "sticky" .....hence the "quiet" 2-3 injectors.... ;-) ) If they are clicking then they are alive, but (and its a big but) if they are laquered then they will not Spray, they will dribble, and Dribbles aint no good basically. You need a nice "Purfume Spray" not a squirt. You can check if you have a nice spray as suggested by one of the other guys (do pay attention to his warnings on atomised fuel dangers though, he is dead right. One thing I note from your Update....... If your Number three plug is "wet" erm.........its NOT firing ....... The other plugs are sooty because the system is trying to compensate for the rough running etc, and increasing the fuel/air mix accordingly ( going Rich, Quite normal for the time being). The fact that number three is wet and not sooty is a further indication that it is Not firing by the way....... I stick to me orginal plan here Stephen, Get that Ignition system checked, it sounds as if number three isn't getting any sparks, although you may well have laquered up injectors as well which will be adding to the problem. If you want to Mail me direct , remove NOSPAM from the email addy and get back to me.
