Subject: Re: Should I buy a 97 900SE Turbo?

I believe the 97 900 has a cable clutch. Saab did not believe in a cable clutch for most of the life of the 900 model, using it only for two years. They went back to a hydraulic clutch in 1998. Saab advertised the hydraulic clutch as a safety feature since it shared the same fluid tank as the the brakes. If you have a lost your brake fluid, you could not shift and could not put the car in a forward gear. Therefore, no issues trying to stop a car without brakes. They may have designed the car this way to reduce cost as well as make it safer. Jess wrote: > I'm considering buying a 97 900SE Turbo.
