Martin, Congrats on the new car. You will adapt to it and love it. It should boost past the end of the orange section of the gage. My gage is white/orange/red. Yours is a 225HP (Aero Spec engine). AT WOT and less than ~4000 rpm, it should be 1/3 into the red region or so (I believe). Acceleration is not directly proportional to boost pressure. It is closely related, but also requires the engine management system to adjust parameters accordingly. If you select top gear and from less than 2000 rpm if you floor it (WOT), it should pop up to the end of orange to the 1/3 or so of red and hold there until revs increase and it drops back down to the border of orange/red. By this time you are well above legal speeds (except GER)! The *feel* of the car will change as your throttle habit and gear selection adapts to this car. Full boost pressure may develop at less than WOT, but max power will be at WOT and max boost pressure. Clutch pedal squeak can be cured with a squirt of silicone spray lube on the rubber bit INSIDE the return spring. You can cure some of the dash rattles/squeaks with some adhesive backed felt, appropriately applied. The handling is different mainly due to the different suspension design and by the fact that the car is a full 6" wider! You can buy Abbot/Hirsch/Saab/other suspension bits to achieve some of the aero (or better) handling you are seeking. Make sure you adjust the steering wheel placement (in/out) and the seat height to accommodate your physical needs/comfort. Mine has the mechanical seat height adjuster and I really would like the power seat height/rake adjustment. I will definitely fit one from a salvage car.
