If it is, I'd do it first. The coolant hose connections for the heater core are both on the driver side of the engine block. The supply connection is right below the head on the driver side. The return is behind the block on the same side. The return is connected to a metal tubing bihind the block to the passenger side front to the water pump. Disconnect both coolant hoses. Flush the core by connecting the garden hose to the coolant hose. No tighten connection is needed. Do it until clear water comes out from the other side. After that, do a reverse flush. This is a simple way to confirm blockage of the many passage ways of the core is not the culprit. I've never had this problem with either my 900 or 9000. The 900 I used to own did have a bad heater control valve which I replaced, however. I did have the partially blocked heater core in a Camry I used to own which I sloved by flushing. Yaofeng
