Subject: Wipers - Check Valves do what ???

I have a convertible NG900. The washers stopped working so I replaced the first check valve in the line at the first washer port on the hood(this one looks like a "T"). That fixed the problem (for $17, what a rip off). But, I got to thinking... what's the purpose of the second check valve ? If the first valve holds the fluid in this upper section of the line, why would you need a second check valve at the downstream washer ? Or, does the check valve only hold the fluid in the Washer jet itself ? (What would be the point of that) ? Thanks, Bob
