You'll find that most turbodiesels produce an audible whistle, and if you're being gentle with the accelerator on a cold and still morning, with the windows down, you can hear it loud and clear. My old Mondeo TD used to start to whistle at 1,600 rpm, and on a cold, frosty morning, you could play tunes with it as you changed up through the lower gears. :) It's when it gets loud, or stops, that you worry about it! Listen to cars drive past, especially in the city, and you'll soon hear their turbochargers whistling. :) -- The DervMan www.dervman.com
