I think it's one of those debatable issues :) The pre-amble for the PCV that Trent Saab (http://www.trentsaab.co.uk) sell describes exactly what happened to my first C900 turbo - "dramatic oil loss through the dipstick tube" ... yeah, about a pint a day! That was fixed for 3.50 UKP and a replacement oil pressure switch for .50 UKP - looks like that was disabled to hide the problem. I'm kind of with you on this one Keith and was thinking that just keeping on top of the vac pipes and grommits would be fine. If a second device is added, the first one failing might cause other problems. Best keep with the original design, eh? But ... If the device actually helps prevent that - it's an extra measure to protect above and beyond the default system. I think (for the price), I'm most likely to get one fitted to my Aero after it's been rebuilt and it seems that Greg (who was the original poster) has had some perceivable benefit from fitting one. I suppose the same debate rages about dump/blow-off valves for the turbo system. I'm having one of these fitted as well ... more bells and whistles :) Cheers all, Paul 1985 900i 16V 1989 900 Turbo S http://pjgh.go.dyndns.org/saab/index.html
