I've driven my 944Turbo in the snow on Bridgestone RE71's. (summer only tires) Actually until I bought my Saab about 4 years ago, I had never owned a front wheel drive car. Unless you live some where where you get alot of snow or somewhere they don't plow the streets, it's not that big of a deal. I live in the Chicago area, about half way to Rockford, and I would not say that we get alot of snow. I spent one winter here where my only car was a 96 Mustang GT with Pirelli P7000 supersports. It really wasn't a problem. (for those of you not familar with US cars, that's a 3300lb car, front engined, rear drive, v8 powered car. ~60-65% of the weight on the front wheels.)
