All cars have CEL's these days. They light when something is wrong in the emission control system. In your case, it appears to have been a loose ground wire. Deal with it. Here's something for you to try. Go out to google and do a search through the newsgroups on "check engine light". In fact, to make your life easy, I did it for you: http://nospam.com/2b47 I got ~ 59000 hits on "check engine light". I didn't bother to check "CEL" or other derivations. Adding the word "saab" to the search got me 630 hits. Since half of those posts are your continuous complaints here, it seems that Saabs are not prone to this more than any other vehicle. Bob for you
