Yes, you are worrying over nothing. My 1990 900T16 has just rolled over 208,000 miles, (original engine, gearbox, and just about everything else except tyres, shockers and a few bits and pieces), and is still a pleasure to drive! It cruises happily well above the legal limit here ;-), and still provides fantastic mid-range torque for overtaking. Things to take care of in my opinion are: * regular oil and filter changes, using the best oil you can afford * regular check-ups by somebody who knows Saabs really well (not necessarily a Saab dealer, by the way...) * listen out for any changes in engine note or gearbox noise, and get it checked/fixed as quickly as possible * (in UK or anywhere else where salt is used in winter) - keep an eye out for rust, especially wheel-arches, doors, boot (trunk) * don't use full boost until the car is well warmed up * avoid using full power in 1st and 2nd gears * avoid frequent short trips, (less than 5 miles or so), especially in winter * after a high-speed cruise, let the turbo cool down before switching off - not as vital with the water-cooled types on later cars, but still a good idea * get a Bentley manual, and find out how it all works! Your 40 miles of high-speed highway driving are just what classic 900's like best! So enjoy the next 100,000 miles!
