Subject: Re: Worst SAAB story?

<< Might not want to rely on the AAA. I don't know _anyone_ who has used the tow service and didn't wait at least two hours and in most cases they waited four or more and then had a wonderful story to tell about how horrible the service was when it finally arrived. A local news station is doing a whole expose on them after finding some folks waiting eight hours after calling them. >>

That is not a comment that you can make that applies across the board and across the entire United States. While I am sure it is true in some locales it sure isn't true around here. When I call AAA I get the same local service shop that I would call if I didn't belong to AAA. Further, barring major emergency conditions (power outages with big icve storms, etc.) they are there within 30 minutes most of the time. Now for taht worst SAAB story. On Thursday I took my 1996 9000CSE into my independent (Don's Swedish Imports) dealer to have winter tires mounted, brake work and an oil change. I had originally planned to leve the car and have my wife pick me up for lunch but when I got there he explained that twomechanics were out and so was the office gal so he was doing everything and it might take 3 hours to get my car done. He then handed me a dealer's tag and some keys and said "here go take the 2000 9-5 over there for a couple of hours while I work." To top it off, after drivign away a happy camper tha afternoon I got a call from him the next morning telling me that I had forgotten to tell him waht to do with my summer tires and he had forgotten to put them in my car. I had meant to leave them as at best they had 5000 miles left on them. He said he didn't want to throw them away until he checked with me. Rest of the story will come in increments as I test my new Green Diamond tires. So far they have preformed admirably although not much snow and no ice. They are quiet. Off in the middle of an ice storm in a few hours and that will be the first real ltest. Cheers, Ted Ted Harris Resource Strategy Henniker, New Hampshire
