"Eccentricity" hits the nail on the head - I think that's walways been a key component of the Saab appeal: doing things differently and getting things to work well indeed. I very much agree: the world is getting a poorer, grayer place because fewer brands dare to appeal to eccentricity and dare to try to go for expeditionary journeys and see if the public goes for it. It all seems to be converging of stuff that works well, but shares too damn many common attributes, and where the deviations from the lowest common denominator are minimal.
