I agree about responsibility, *but*, if this was the timing belt on a V6 (I don't know what a "drive belt in a '97 9-5" is...) but, if it is, I believe that 45K miles is way over the replacement interval. It's all speculation, of course, as there's no such thing as a '97 9-5... Dave Hinz
