Could be that after replacing the pads, the gap between piston-pad-disc has to be taken up by the hydraulics by pumping a few times (about 20 or so). Until this is done you may have long pedal travel before contact. Or is it spongy brakes you're experiencing? In which case we're probably talking about air in the hydraulics. So we have a better of idea of the level of fix done, can you tell a bit about the bleeding technique? With air pressure from the reservoir, or the "two-person push-open-close-release method"? /Robert
