Subject: Re: Jammed convertible hood

Thats good knoledge about the handle. Remember, the roof is stuck UP, not DOWN, which in this weather is a relief. It also means I want to know as much as possible before I fiddle with it, as if I end up with it stuck down I will render it unusable! The rear window doesnt fold up, it doesnt get thet far. The problem is in the very first stage of the roof coming down, which is that the two rear facing arms of the hood move from horizontal to vertical. One side works fine, but the other is simply jammed (it raises the arm about 3cm from rest, and it wont go any further, even with some healthy human help) Obviously I stop the procedure here as the roof starts to twist and if I kept going would break. I guess (but am open to opinion) that it means either the motor on one side is dead (but would it kam so hard, it wont even move with a good heave upwards on the arm) or that something is jamming the mechanism that side, I cant see in there to tell. I have time, as I dont think I'll be needing the roof down for a bit !
