Subject: Re: Brake Caliper Causing Pull?

> Remove the brake pads. Unbolt the caliper, without disconnecting > the hydraulic hose. Lubricate the slide pins. Do not replace the entire caliper right away. First try to lubricate the pins and get the caliper free to move without unbolting the entire caliper. These bolts may be >very< tight if they have never been loosened before. Do not get any lubricant on the brake disc/rotor. > ... piston out all the way. Use a G clamp to retract the piston. > Repeat this 2-3 times. The piston may be corroded so that it will not retract enough after you take your foot off the brake pedal. In that case you will have to replace it. Is there not a special tool needed to allow the piston to retract? or was that with a 99/900 only? ------------------------------------------- MH '72 97 '77 96 '78 95 '79 96 http://go.to/saab96
