The problem may be that sometimes articles in newspapers about crashes mention people not wearing their seatbelts surviving the crash because they didn't wear their seatbelt. What you don't read is how many people survive a crash because they were wearing their seatbelt. Another good example is a guy I now who doesn't wear his seatbelt while driving next to a canal. According to him he does this so he can leave the car quickly in case he should drive into the water for whatever reason. You cannot make him understand that hitting the water is like driving into a concrete wall. You first have to get through the initial crash on the water. And that's were your seatbelt (and if present your airbags) come in. -- Mager
