About 10 years ago, I drove about 250 miles to the north of England in December in my Vauxhall Astra. The headlights got a serious entrustation of salt from the road. The loss of light output was not obvious to me until I stopped at a Little Chef and parked facing a wall and was horrified to see two little glows where there should have been two bright pools of light. I've no doubt that the wash-wipe system on the Saab is very valuable. By the way, I cleaned the Astra's lights with a Coke-soaked serviette.
