Lots of new car models have problem in their first year of production. While it's all fun and exciting to be the first one to have the new model, I prefer to hang back a year or two, to let the major bugs get worked out. Nothing Saab-specific's just that Saab usually fixes the biggies after the first year, where some other manufacturers just leave those problems there for the entire production life of the vehicle (chrysler's self-destructing auto transmission, for instance).
