Salutations: Not for an average class a 26 foot motorhome - they run about 6-8 miles a gallon even today.. This one is 24 years old and really gets 13 miles to the gallon (US gallon at that).. And yes - when and if I ever have to replace the engine - I'm going turbo volvo penta with a custom bell torque converter to mate to the 425 tranny.. There is much talk of this on my owners listserver.. If I though it would make the torque figures ( 320ft/lbs torque nopsam RPM ) and I could get fuel for it on the road - I would prefer a Ballard hydrogen cell - but I fear it's diesel all round until the actually pump the ground dry..
