I also should have mentioned... push the stem from side to side a 
little when you test. A good stem won't care; a leaky stem will
leak for you. Also, it is possible to replace the stems without
even re balancing, although you may need a machine to break the 
tire from the rim to try it. A good (small) shop can handle this
for you if that's the problem.
