It is the red unit squarely mounted atop the engine. If you pull that off you will find there are four coils which mount atop each of the spark plugs. These DI "cassettes" can go bad, but I certainly wouldn't buy one and carry it around with me. They are pretty expensive and while they are known to go bad occasionally, they don't fail all that often. Also, you do usually get some warning before it goes out such as misfiring on one cylinder under heavy acceleration. I have two old 9000's ('92 and a '93) which both have DI and have not had to replace either of them.(yet) I hear the best way to avoid them failing is change your plugs only with the correct NGK's regularly.
