Subject: Re: Size of gas tank...?

Well, I will admit to being fairly rabid on this issue, and thus, prone to slight exaggeration of the severity of the problem with waiting for fuel service. There are many times when I've gotten served right away, by people that were competent. But many times I've waited while one person tries to fill 8 cars, or had to deal with rude and incompetent employees. At these times, it just strikes me as silly that we're prohibited from doing such a simple task that practically everyone else in the US and Canada manages to do without any drama at all. Around the Portland area, gas stations are always hiring, so the turnover rates must be incredible. And, the "training" is non-existent. "Take cap off, stick nozzle in, squeeze trigger, pull nozzle out, squirt gas onto fender, hand receipt to pissed-off customer" pretty much sums it up. I know, I used to be a pump jockey in my youth. Well, as long as we're discussing mangled pronunciations of state names, I always get a chuckle when East Coasters pronounce it "Ara-gone", when in fact, it's pronounced "Ory-gun". But I'm sure I mangle just as many place names, so I suppose the Zen-like balance is maintained! :) "tom reingold" <tlr244nopsamnline.net> wrote in message news:3E054800.40904nopsamnline.net... > > > Daniel Kaempff wrote: > > Oregon is the other US state that forbids self-serve gasoline.
