Just two weeks ago my wife (w/ 1996 900SE conv.) was out and about and her remote refused to work. Fortunately she went to a photo store and they replaced the battery, and it worked. Such a minor thing, but a supreme annoyance. The battery has failed at the most awkward moments, always when we're away from the house and the spare key, a proof of Murphy's Law! Or is it SAAB's Law! Did you/they ever figure out what was wrong with your car? I had a lot of nitpicky issues when I bought my car (1995 900 SE manual shift). I'm just about to cross the 100,000 mile mark. Still handles well. What a car, what a company. Best bang for the buck. Absolutely ZERO regrets. Unfortunately, I won't buy another Saab because they no longer make hatchbacks. WHY!!!
