Even if your rated pulling capacity exceeds your cars empty weight , it is generally not a good idea to tow something heavier that the pulling vehicle. Thus in your case, if the car trailer and car do not exceed around 1400kg you should be fine, as long as you keep your speeds down to around 80 to 90 km/h and do not encounter steep inclines, expecially if you're at high elevations. If you try to reach the 130 km/h, as allowed in France for instance, I can image you will not have a pleasant drive. If you exceed this weight, I recommend you not to do it. The combination is likely to be very unstable, especially at cruising speeds. -- Mager
