If the same happens while you're > disconnecting the +ve, then if you've already disconnected the > -ve, again, nothing happens. i guess grunff missed out a line here. if you disconnect positive first and you touch something with a screwdriver, spanner etc. you can really have a big problem. all metal bodyparts are connected to the negative connector of the battery, so if you somehow short positive with a part of the body (via a spanner) there will be loads of spark cos a car battery usually has lots of current. i guess you can imagine the rest, people have gone blind because sparks flew in their eyes. even if that doesnt happen, you could seriously burn your hands cos of the metal part getting hot. if you disconnect the negative connector of the battery first, you cant close the circuit with body parts, so nothing bad will happen if you accidently touch positive and a bodypart. bye simon
