The last time this occurred to my 9000CS (MY95), it turned out to be a faulty DI cassette. With hindsight, there was plenty of warning signals in the 6 months preceding: when starting from cold, engine would start as usual but stopped within a second. The "start, then stop" cycle needed to be repeated a few times before the engine could run steadily. I failed to appreciate this warning sign, or I could have saved the towing to the dealer. Saab must be a rare sight in NZ.
