I have a 1998 Saab 900 turbo that so far have not given me any trouble. After 52000 miles that changed yesterday. I have religiously changed oil and had the maintainance, and have never driven the car hard. Not even driven it much in traffic, only on highways in stable speeds. I parked the car outside for the first time in a while (live in Chicago, that means a little below 32 Farenheit). When I after a few hours came back to drive home, the "Check Engine" and the "Check Gear Box" lights came on. I turned the engine of, and tried again. Still the lights were on. So, I left my car and came back today to check if it still would show. It did. However, I left it running idle until it was warm, and tried again. This time it did not appear, so I carefully drove the car home. It did not get on while I was driving the few miles either. When it was running on idle, I checked in the enginecompartment for anything unusual. I could not see anything, nor hear anything abnormal. It was no leaks under the car either. (That I didn't see anything wrong doesn't necessarily mean that nothing is wrong. I don't know that much about whats happening under the hood) What can this be? How much can I use the car? Should I take it straight to a mechanic? Thanks....
