What Tom wrote below is very true. Not only don't we have Peugeots, we don't have any French cars (I think the big Citroens are very interesting, but they haven't been here since 1967). And the only Italian cars available here are ones that most people can't afford from Masarati and Lamborghini; no Alfa-Romeo's or Lancia's for us. I just came back from Germany and was surprised to see what looked like an economy version of a Mercedes. The smallest, cheapest Mercedes model we have in the US is the C230, which is considered a mid-line model in Germany. BTW, I always have to look twice and laugh when the folks from Europe refer to Mercedes as a "Merc". In the US, Merc is the abbreviation we use for the Mercury division of Ford. "Merc" is also the division of Ford that brought the Scorpio and Sierra (IIRC) XR4Ti that were for a short time marketed as Merkur products the US. "tom reingold" <tlr244nopsamnline.net> wrote in message news:3E0B4523.9090107nopsamnline.net... The American market has only a small (mis)representation of the cars that Europe makes. Mostly, they are the high end of the market. We don't have Fiats or Peugeots here (or many other brands) and we don't have low end Volvos either.
