Or they might have a good laugh at you for not checking with your Saab dealer or at least reading your manual prior to performing such a hazardous task as touching anything under the hood that isn't clearly marked as customer touchable (usually the bright yellow parts). In my current Saab, these parts are limited to the windscreen washer liquid filler cap, the oil level stick and the engine coolant reservoir. Everything else is hands off. By the way, these days most cars are made like this too, so your friends migh as well shut up. My last user seviceable car was my 1992 900 Griffin Classic.
